Foam analysis
Along with providing firefighting foam concentrates and additives, we offer our service of analysis of firefighting foam concentrates.
For us it is crucial to determine the current state of the foam you are using, so we measure all the physical-chemical properties you need to take into account, as well as performing a fire test to fully determine whether the foam works properly or needs to be changed.
Here are some of the physical-chemical properties we measure in foam concentrates:
- Specific gravity.
- pH value.
- Sedimients.
- Expansion index.
- 25% Drainage time.
- Surface tension.
- Interfacial tension.
- Spreading coefficient (when applicable)
- Freezing point.
- Refractive index.
- Viscosity.
- Fire tests.
These are usually made according to European standard EN-1568 with heptane and acetone, but they can be run according to other standards (ICAO, IMO, UL, IEC, BS, NF, ISO, etc.). Please consult whether you need to verify your foam with specific additional fuels.
For these tests, we request a 5 liter simple after recirculation of the foam tank. Please provide all the data you have about the foam concentrate you are sending us. We thank you for your cooperation.
The results per sample are given in maximum three work days after receiving it in our facilities. It will be electronically signed by a Graduated Chemist.
We also run (on demand) larger fire tests, that can be supervised via third party inspectors. Please send us an enquiry via the contact form with all the details in order to help you appropriately.
