At VS FOCUM, we are deeply proud of the journey that brought us here. Our legacy products — the BoldFoam AFFF and AFFF-AR concentrates developed from the early 2000s onward — were the foundation of our reputation. They protected lives, assets and critical infrastructure in industrial plants, airports, petrochemical sites, ports and high-hazard environments for more than two decades.
These formulations delivered outstanding performance in real-world conditions and earned the trust of thousands of users across Europe and beyond. We are genuinely grateful for every fire they helped control and for the role they played in shaping who we are today.
Important commitment to our clients using legacy products: These concentrates have reached the end of their development cycle. They will no longer receive any updates, reformulations, new certifications or R&D improvements.
That said, we continue to offer full, uninterrupted support for as long as clients need them and regulations allow their use:
At the same time, our focus and all current R&D investment have shifted decisively to fluorine-free and PFAS-free firefighting foams, led by the Silvara range. This strategic pivot responds to accelerating EU PFAS restrictions (REACH updates and phased bans from 2026 onward) and to our responsibility to deliver sustainable, high-performance solutions for the future.
Silvara concentrates match or surpass legacy AFFF performance in most scenarios. They are proven through rigorous testing (EN 1568, ICAO Level B, LASTFIRE, FM, etc.), designed for easy integration into existing proportioning systems, and built around three priorities: usability, efficacy and genuine eco-efficiency.
We understand that moving from trusted legacy BoldFoam AFFF/AR stocks to fluorine-free alternatives requires planning, testing and confidence. That’s why we provide dedicated transition support:
