Certified under standards such as EN 1568, ICAO, IMO, LASTFIRE, and others, and compliant with FM5130, AS5062, and key additional requirements, every Silvara product prioritizes genuine ease of use (no gel formation, precise proportioning, long-term stability), proven efficacy in real conditions, and verified biodegradability — making Silvara the technical, sustainable, and reliable solution for industries, airports, fire services, mining, and chemical emergencies.
Silvara – Class B
Silvara Newtonian concentrates are the core of our current innovation: fluorine-free solutions that deliver maximum extinguishing performance, exceptional ease of use, and minimal environmental impact. Their ultra-low viscosity enables precise proportioning in any system and outstanding performance even under the most demanding conditions.
Silvara CORE (0.3%) / Silvara ZFK (0.5%)
Silvara CORE is currently the world’s most concentrated Class B fluorine-free foam, certified at 0.3% per EN 1568-3:2018 (IC) by MPA Dresden. This ultra-concentration is no gimmick: it dramatically cuts transport, storage, and waste management costs while minimizing additive discharge to the environment. Its extremely low viscosity ensures accurate proportioning in CAFS systems, and complete absence of fluorinated compounds is independently verified by SGS Analytics and ALS Environmental.
Back in 2015, Silvara ZFK set a milestone by achieving certification at 0.5% (EN 1568-3 IB) under Bureau Veritas supervision, proving that lower concentrations in fluorine-free foams are possible without sacrificing performance. Today it remains a benchmark in mining and industrial sectors thanks to its AS5062-certified efficacy and zero-fluorine confirmation by SYNLAB and ALS Environmental.
Silvara I (1%) / Silvara III (3%)
We know that water retention alone does not solve hydrocarbon contamination or the destructive effect of alcohols on many foams. That’s why, since 2012, we have focused on precisely tuned formulations. Silvara 1 was the starting point; in 2018 it was fully reformulated as Silvara I (1%), achieving MPA Dresden certifications in EN 1568-3 IB, EN 1568-1+2, and the highest I+A rating on diesel (fresh and seawater). It also complies with FM5130 using K80 sprinklers, with TOPA/TOF analysis by ALS and a full ecotoxicological report from SYNLAB.
Silvara III (3%) inherits the exact same EN 1568-3 (IB) certifications, making it the natural, sustainable alternative for replacing traditional 3% AFFF concentrates without compromising efficacy or safety.
Silvara K – Aviation Range (1%, 3%, 6%)
Jet A1 aviation fuel poses unique challenges for foam extinction due to its composition and additives, which cause persistent reignition and toxic vapors. ICAO regulations classify foam performance in levels A, B, and C, prioritizing rapid fire control to enable passenger rescue. VS FOCUM developed a complete family tailored to the most common nominal concentrations:
- Silvara K1 (1%)
- Silvara K3 (3%)
- Silvara K6 (6%)
All three are certified ICAO Level B by MPA Dresden. Silvara K3 and K6 also meet EN 1568-3:2018. Versatility was a key design priority: they excel on Jet A1 while handling other common hydrocarbons.
In 2025, in response to specific client demand, Silvara K30 was certified (ICAO Level B at 3% with protection down to -30°C), further expanding options for airports and extreme-climate operations.
Silvara – Class B-AR
At VS FOCUM, we prioritize real-world usability and reliability in our fluorine-free pseudoplastic foams, based exclusively on fully hydrated water-soluble polymers. This technology ensures that any dilution with water reduces viscosity with no risk of gel formation, delivering the highest pseudoplastic coefficient for optimal flow at high pumping speeds — perfect for accurate proportioning in real systems, without pipe blockages from condensation or anti-return valve failures.
Unlike semi-hydrated or partially hydrated concentrates — which can increase viscosity by up to 800% upon water contact, forming gels that compromise performance and safety — our products maintain predictable stability, lower pressure loss, and consistent behavior in emergency scenarios.
Silvara APC1 (1×3%)
Committed to genuine usability, we developed Silvara APC1 using fully hydrated polymers that eliminate any gel risk when water is added. Bureau Veritas oversaw its EN 1568 certification (parts 1+3+4), confirming outstanding performance.
Unlike many fluorine-free foams, it allows over-dosing (up to 3%) on hydrocarbons without excessive contamination. SYNLAB has certified complete absence of fluorine in its composition.
Silvara APC / APC+ (3×3%)
Our philosophy is clear: ease of use first, efficacy second, environmental respect always. Both products dissolve quickly and cleanly without prolonged agitation or gel risk.
- Silvara APC: multi-expansion (low, medium, high), with special strength on alcohols and polar solvents.
- Silvara APC+: more balanced for low expansion, ideal for mixed hydrocarbon/polar fires.
Certified by MPA Dresden in EN 1568-3&4 on heptane, acetone, ethanol, E5 gasoline, B7 diesel (fresh and seawater), plus IMO Misc. Circ. 1312. Complies with FM5130 using sprinklers from K28 to K160 on hydrocarbons and polar liquids.
Fluorine-free (SYNLAB), TOPA (ALS), 96% biodegradability at 7 days and 100% at 28 days, and full compatibility with dry chemical powder.
Silvara AR (3×3%)
Designed for chemical, pharmaceutical industries and processes involving highly varied fuels (hydrocarbons and polar solvents). MPA Dresden certified it EN 1568 against heptane, acetone, methanol, isopropanol, isoamyl alcohol, butanol, MEK, ethyl acetate, toluene, and THF.
Bureau Veritas validated FM 5130 (K80, K115, K160) at 3% in fresh water with IPA, acetone, and MEK, delivering excellent results at 2 bar.
Its viscosity is similar to classic AFFF/AR (< 120 cps at 0°C) and does not increase when mixed with water at any ratio.
Class A
BoldFoam A+ (0.3%)
BoldFoam A+ (0.3%) is the reference concentrate for CAFS systems: it produces small, uniform bubble foam at 0.3%, with exceptional wetting and foaming power.
Certified EN 1568-1+3, approved by INIA for low environmental impact, TOPA analysis by ALS, and wettability by Bureau Veritas.
Hundreds of thousands of liters sold confirm it as the favorite for Class A fires in CAFS, adaptable to various water-air ratios without the typical issues of similar concentrates.
